This is а first of it’s kind project which I created for my Instagram followers, among which are a multitude of bead lovers and crafters. I do not create PDF step by step instructions for a particular beaded piece that would demonstrate my own bead weaving methods and techniques (like many beaders do) simply because it is boring. Boring not only for me to make, but the whole concept of following somebody's steps when every person has his or her own unlimited creative potential is not appealing to my philosophy. Why to copy somebody, when one can create his/her own unique piece?! I understand that not everybody can easily manipulate beads in creative ways and those people would need a little lesson on how to. That is why my project #beading_with_Svetlana was born where I can demonstrate my personal technical methods of a beaded chain and waves and each participant would create her own piece using those methods and by following a set of rules. I decided to make the experience unforgettable ))) by complicating the challenge and encouraging everybody think outside the box. Over 120 people from all over the world signed up for the project knowing nothing about it's challenges and the creative adventures they might experience. The participants had to work with colors that were unusual for them to select as per their normal style and preferences. They were also tasked with creating a piece in a style which was opposite of their habbits. The goal was to unleash their creative potential and widen their artistic horizons. Each person learned something new not only about beading techniques and color combinations but also about themselves.
When we work in an environment which is comfortable and closed onto its own, it becomes a second nature which gives limitations to our artistic possibilities. We sit in our comfort box limited by its walls and often don't see beyond them. By getting out of the comfort zone we open a door to a new creative world.
The project ends on December 11. Each participant will make a post with their final work and tag it appropriately so anyone and everyone can see who has done what. I will post pictures of each work in my blog with a link to each Instagram account, so everyone can see the before and after work of each project participant.
